Guide to NOLA: Bachelorette Edition

We did it! My friend Sarah Beth and I planned THE best bachelorette weekend in New Orleans for our sweet bride Sadie. I have only visited New Orleans in college for fraternity formals – which is less than ideal (trust me) and it honestly put a bad taste in my mouth about the city. I am so happy to tell you that on this trip, I loved exploring the other side of New Orleans that goes beyond Bourbon Street. I am going to give you all of the details including our itinerary, decor and links to it all!

STAY

We had about 13 girls coming on this bachelorette weekend so we needed to find a large Airbnb that would fit us all and this one was PERFECT. It was located on Magazine Street which was in a very walkable area to local restaurants and shopping. There was a coffee shop just two streets down and then in the other direction were so many other local gems. Here is the link to Our Airbnb and here is another similar option Other Airbnb Option.

DECORATIONS + THEME

Sadie is a hippie at heart and truly just a ray of sunshine so our theme was Dazed + Engaged with Sadie Jones! We were able to find so many cute things to decorate with on Amazon and Etsy. We had balloons blown up at Party City and a friend Stephanie painted the sign to go along with the theme. I loved these custom cups and disco table runner from Etsy that we used. I also got these adorable hangover kit bags that I filled with Liquid IV, Advil, makeup wipes, gold eye patches and candy.

ITINERARY

DAY 1

• Arrive to Airbnb
• Catered Po Boys from Parkway at Airbnb
• 60’s Themed Night Out in Frenchman’s

DAY 2

• Breakfast at the Airbnb
• Trolley Rental from 1 – 4pm
  • Planned stops at New Orleans Original Daquiris Uptown, Ashley Longshore Art, Drive through Garden District and ended at The Tchoup Yard.
• Pre-Dinner drinks at Carousel Bar
• Dinner at Arnaud’s on Bourbon Street – highly recommend requesting an upstairs private room with balcony on Bourbon Street. This was a highlight of the trip and make sure to bring beads to throw!
• Night Out at Cat’s Meow on Bourbon which is walking distance from dinner

DAY 3

• Walked down Magazine Street to the best bagels at Steins
• Drag Lunch at The Country Club
• Boat Ride – we went on a friends boat for the day but there are boat rental companies which is a fun thing to do if you’re there in summer
• Pizza at the house with fun games and lingerie shower for the bride to be!

OTHER NOLA PLACES TO GO

Sarah Beth and I did have a day before and a day after the trip to explore and stay with our friend Julia who lives in New Orleans! We went to a few places that are definitely a must for your trip.

• Saint Vincent Restaurant – perfect for dinner, vibes are amazing and food was delish
• The Chloe – a charming hotel and great spot for drinks
• Cafe Du Monde in the Park – this is not the original but I loved this location and the park in beautiful
• Elle Boutique – I loved this boutique on Magazine St and it was in a great location with other stores
• Felix Oyster Bar – on Bourbon St, has a balcony and oysters
